Courier letter: Trekkers community auction

Sending thanks to all who joined us for this year’s community auction — bidders, buyers, donors, volunteers and sponsors!

Trekkers hosted another successful community auction fundraiser at Rockland Elks Lodge. In the spacious meeting room, clusters of Trekkers students gathered, parents and guardians caught up, supporters chatted with staff, volunteers and alumni and bidders from across the community bid on items from their favorite businesses.

Once again the highlight of the evening was watching the interaction between auctioneer team Bruce and Becky Gamage and Trekkers students as they presented the Live Auction items. For the seventh year in a row, the auction included a plow donated by Fisher Engineering.

Then there were the countless people and businesses who showed up for the students by donating an item, volunteering time before or after the event or absentee bidding from afar. To these present but not in-person supporters — thank you! You also very much made this year’s success possible.

All told, 54 families were fundraising. We had 75 bidders and raised $21,339.26. This is the first of the three student fundraiser events (our catalog fundraiser is in March and the Trekkers 5K road race in June).

Many businesses and donors from across the community generously contributed and made this success possible. We encourage all to consider visiting these businesses who support this community. Click here to view the full catalog with all contributing donors listed.
