Artist Bio

Jean Kigel specializes in Asian brush painting, traditional watercolors, and gyotaku prints. She lives and works at her studio-home on Muscongus Bay in Waldoboro. She has exhibited at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C, Bowdoin College, Archipelago Gallery in Rockland, The Round Top Center for the Arts in Damariscotta, the Chocolate Church in Bath, Sea Studio Gallery in Tenants Harbor, Saltwater Gallery in Pemaquid Point, the Maine Art Gallery in Wiscasset, and Hunter Gallery of Fine Arts in Grafton, VT.

Award-winning member of the Sumi-e Society of America, Kigel has conducted workshops USM in Portland, MECA in Portland, the Round Top Center for the Arts in Damariscotta and the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland.
