Spirals

Giclee Print Artist Proof, 12 X 17 unframed, archival framing 21 X 26

When you are in the business of scrutinizing Mother Nature, it is inevitable that at some point you take note of repeated patterns. Her use of the spiral is an example of one that you see on many levels. With this one begins to understand that nature is showing us the harmony that exists in the natural world. Part of what I offer as an artist is to celebrate this notion by placing these two extremes (infinitesimal & infinite) side by side. In doing so, I hope that the viewer arrives at a fundamental realization that no matter where they venture, they will find a familiar music, a sweet song that everyone can hear. You can see it in a pinecone, when you stir cream into your coffee or as the water in your sink passes down the drain. We sometimes think of ourselves as somehow being separate from the universe, that it all goes on around us. In fact the universe is also within us. We are all participants in the great cosmic symphony.
