GUIDED NATURE WALK WITH TREKKERS

Community Event  • November 16, 10:00 a.m
Location:
Meet at the Trekkers office at 9:15 a.m. to carpool or directly at 10:00 a.m. at the Whitefield Salmon Preserve Trailhead.

Step off the beaten path and experience the restorative power of nature with Trekkers’ Principal Program Manager, TJ Morris. During this guided hike, TJ will introduce participants to a simple but powerful grounding technique—the 5-4-3-2-1 method—used in Trekkers programming to help students calm their minds and connect more deeply with their surroundings.

This is a small group experience (maximum of 12 participants) designed for adults interested in learning mindfulness techniques, reconnecting with nature, and discovering how Trekkers supports young people year-round.

Registration is free, but a suggested donation of $10–$15 helps fund Trekkers’ youth programming across all seasons. Journals and writing utensils will be provided.

FIELD NOTES FROM MY YOUNGER SELF

Community Event  •  January 10, 2026
Location: Rock City Café, 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.

Join Trekkers for an evening of reflection, laughter, and community storytelling at Field Notes from My Younger Self—a night inspired by the beloved podcast, Grown Ups Read Things They Wrote as Kids.
In this cozy community event at Rock City Café, Trekkers alumni will take the stage to share excerpts from the journals they kept during their Trekkers years—a tradition that’s been at the heart of our program since day one. Journaling has long helped our students reflect, process experiences, and connect with themselves and each other in meaningful ways.
After the alumni readings, we’ll open the mic for a community storytelling session, inviting audience members to share entries, poems, or letters from their own teenage years. Expect laughter, a few tears, and a lot of heart.
Hot chocolate will be provided by our friends at Rock City Café, with baked goods donated by local community members.
Tickets: $20 | All proceeds directly support Trekkers’ six-year mentoring program.
*Pay-what-you-can options available upon request.*
