This pieces is sculpted from wild Maine clay sustainably harvested here in the Midcoast.  It is pit-fired, using compostable, locally acquired waste and sealed in beeswax. As such, it stands as an homage to place and relationship to landscape.

Kathryn Miles is a best-selling author and local ceramacist. Her forthcoming memoir, Clay Bodies, celebrates the grounding power of creativity, intergenerational healing, and fidelity to place.
